Metamorphosis

of a beetle

This collection is inspired by one of my most unusual passions: bugs. But more specifically the metamorphosis of beetles, which is something I’ve been connected to since I was a little girl, while other kids were playing on swings and pretending to be housewives, I was in the garden collecting insects.

I visited the Academy of sciences where an entomologist let me study the forms and colors of hundreds of beetles and explained how their patterns evolve in their ecology.

All these pictures I took and more, inspired the way I developed my designs which quite literally represent the evolution of the beetles from the larval stage to the adult form. Each look is meant to represent a different stage.

This just goes to show beauty truly comes in all shapes, sizes and colors.
